In various American media, the message surfaced that payment will soon be made for Google Photos. At least for a number of editing functions within the Google Photos environment.
Google Photos behind a paywall
Google Photos is a great photo management and editing app. As it has grown in popularity, Google has occasionally tried to monetize this feature. Google now plans to reserve certain editing tricks – previously available for free – for Google One subscribers.
Indications that we have to pay
It has been investigated why people think we should pay in the future:
As a Google One member you get access to extra editing functions and if you look in Google-One you may already have to unlock some ‘extras’. It stays with rumors. Google hasn’t really come out with a statement yet. But if it is actually the case that we have to pay, that would be a shame.
