Olympic swimming champion Michael Phelps raced against a white shark. The race was broadcasted on Discovery as part of the ‘Shark week.’Phelps managed to swim 100 meters in 38.1 seconds. The competition was swum in South Africa.
Phelps and the white shark do not literally race side by side as can be seen in the video. The race of the shark was merged with the image of the Phelps race. The two swam separately from each other to ensure the safety of Phelps. During the Phelps race, 14 divers were among them.
A one millimeter thick wetsuit and a mono-fin that served as a tail. The Olympic champion said that this was his toughest race ever. Watch the video of the race below:
